Jacobo Pombo García is the President of the Global Youth Leadership Forum (GYLF), a global platform for intergenerational debate. The GYLF is promoted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the World Bank, the European Commission, and the Government of Spain, where young leaders, under the age of 40, engage in discussions with global figures, including presidents, ministers, CEOs, and academics, about major international challenges. The forum's honorary president is King Felipe VI of Spain.
Jacobo served as a delegate of the Government of Spain at the G20 Youth sectorial (Youth 20) in Australia in 2014. He was also the Director of Projects, Sponsorships, and Internationalisation at the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) from 2012 to 2013, working under the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports of Spain.
He holds a PhD in Historical-Legal Sciences from Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, where he graduated with the Outstanding Cum Laude distinction. Jacobo also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs, Economics, Politics, and Law from the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE) and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Complutense University of Madrid. He further enhanced his leadership skills by attending the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program at Georgetown University in 2021.
Jacobo has taught International Relations at several universities in Europe, China, and Latin America. He has also worked as a consultant and advisor, specialising in internationalisation and strategic advice for companies.
He has contributed to various publications, including articles and interviews discussing global challenges, the impact of technology on the job market, and the importance of sustainable globalisation. Jacobo has been featured in Forbes and La Razón, where he shared his views on leadership and the future of young leaders in the global arena.
