Asad Sultan is a sustainability and finance specialist with over 25 years of experience in the investment banking industry and a strong commitment to driving innovation in sustainable finance and digital carbon solutions.

 

Asad is the CEO of EcoConsortium, a pioneering joint venture between Verdana and EcoRegistry, which operates the first digital carbon registry in the Asia-Pacific region. The platform integrates digital measuring, reporting, and verification (dMRV) to revolutionise the way carbon footprint data is assessed and validated.

 

Asad also serves as an advisor to ZERO13, a regulated digital exchange focused on carbon credits and ESG real-world assets. His leadership spans multiple ventures, including his role as Group Chief Executive Officer at KL Tech City, where he is actively involved in investing in tech industry startups.

 

Asad’s career began in 1990 at Citibank in New York as an Equity Research Analyst. He later moved to Daiwa Bank in Hong Kong, followed by senior roles at Macquarie Bank and Cantor Fitzgerald with expertise in investment banking and financial strategies across Asia.

 

He has co-founded Fractal, a company focusing on sustainable solutions, and mentors startups through accelerators such as ConceptionX and StartupBootcamp IoT.
