Dr. Wambui Kahara (H.C) is the Founder and CEO of Crystal Tribe Investments and Co-founder and Director of La Pearl Investment Africa. She leads strategic investment projects across Africa, with a focus on sustainable development and economic growth.
Her areas of expertise include investment strategy, youth economic development, inter-governmental relations, urban safety governance, and criminal justice. She also has experience in multilateral engagement and programme development within international organisations.
Dr. Kahara holds an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities. She previously served for a decade at the United Nations in various capacities, including as Regional Coordinator for Urban Safety Governance. She was also appointed as the first Kenya Youth Representative to the United Nations, where she participated in global high-level meetings and engaged with heads of state.
Her contributions include pioneering the UN Inter-agency Joint Programme on Youth, founding the Prisons Entrepreneurship and Reintegration Program in Kenya, and establishing the Africa Young Parliamentarians Network. She has been involved in both public sector and private sector initiatives aimed at addressing systemic development challenges.
She has received multiple awards recognising her work, including the United Nations Award for South-South Cooperation, the Crans Montana New Leader Award, the Humanitarian Award, the United Cities and Local Governments Youth Champion for Africa Award, the Desmond Tutu Leadership Award, and the Rising Star Award. She also serves on several international boards.
Dr. Kahara’s professional approach integrates investment with social impact, with a focus on inclusive development and institutional reform.
