Dr. Chris Trace is the Chief Academic Officer at KEATH.ai, an AI EdTech start-up originating from the University of Surrey. He is responsible for overseeing the entire educator engagement process, from onboarding to collaborative product development and academic success.
His areas of expertise include digital learning, veterinary education, curriculum development, academic technology integration, and educational leadership. He has a particular focus on pedagogical innovation in higher education and the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Chris holds a BVetMed degree from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London (2008), and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (GCLT) from the University of Surrey (2016). He is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS), a National Teaching Fellow (NTF), a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators (FAcadMEd), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Before joining KEATH.ai, Chris served as Head of Digital Learning at the University of Surrey and held several academic and administrative roles within the School of Veterinary Medicine, including eLearning Coordinator, Undergraduate Admissions Tutor, Pedagogical Development Coordinator, Chair of the Student Staff Liaison Committee, and Faculty Theme Champion for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
He serves on the Executive Board of Veterinary Education Worldwide (ViEW) as Treasurer and has been recognised nationally for his contributions to teaching and learning through the National Teaching Fellowship scheme.
Chris’s professional approach combines his background in veterinary science with a focus on evidence-based pedagogical strategies and digital transformation in education.
