

Dr Rhana H Zakri

Miss Rhana Hassan Zakri has been a Consultant Surgeon in Transplantation and Urology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust, London since 2017. She is currently the co-clinical lead for transplant surgery. She performs kidney, simultaneous pancreas kidney (SPK) as well as the kidney for simultaneous liver kidney (SLK) adult transplants.
Dr Rhana has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures including robotic assisted and hand assist laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. Other specialist interests include organ utilisation, medical education and the urological basis of transplantation / end stage renal disease.
Her research interests span the above but also include artificial intelligence and recurrent UTIs. She is well published in peer reviewed journals and has given many lectures nationally and internationally. She is an Educational Supervisor, appraiser, local NHSBT co-clinical lead for organ utilisation and co-lead for education/training in transplant surgery.
She is also the undergraduate medical school lead for transplantation at King’s College, London. She is involved with a number of charities and is the founder and chairperson of IPAT (International Pakistani Association of Transplantation. She is a founding member and General secretary of the charity GulgeeZ Medics UK.
