Annabel Gillard is an expert in AI ethics, corporate culture, and behavioural science with a strong focus on fostering trust and human empowerment in a rapidly digitalising world. With a background in strategic collaborations, she works with trusted partners to ensure the ethical implementation of technology and the cultivation of an organisational culture that supports technological transformation.
Annabel co-founded the LSE FORGOOD initiative, where she leads efforts to integrate behavioural science ethically into corporate environments, helping organisations navigate difficult trade-offs and develop more resilient, scalable interventions.
She is also a co-founder of Conversations on AI, a cross-sector network dedicated to addressing the human impact of artificial intelligence. Her work revolves around AI ethics, organisational culture, and financial performance, and she offers insights into how corporations can incorporate culture into investment analysis.
Annabel’s report, Organisational Culture is the Next Frontier in Investment Management, provides training to asset managers on evaluating corporate culture and developing bespoke methodologies for integrating culture into investment decisions.
Annabel’s extensive experience includes her role as Director of Global Institutional Business at M&G Investments, where she led business development across asset classes and geographies. She also has a deep understanding of change management and has worked on creating high-performance, global teams.
During her tenure as a trustee for Prudential's staff pension scheme and as a board member of the CFA UK, she was actively involved in improving governance and ethics support for members. Annabel also served as Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee at CFA UK, where she played a key role in reviewing and updating the organisation’s governance and ethical guidelines.
Additionally, Annabel is a member of the Institute of Business Ethics’ International Advisory Council; she has spent over 20 years building institutional businesses in asset management, and she serves on the Trustee Board of Clore Social Leadership and the advisory committees of the Institute of Business Ethics and Blueprint For Better Business. She has an MA in Philosophy and AI, an MSc in Behavioural Science and is a CFA charterholder.
Her ongoing projects focus on the intersection of AI and behavioural science, the decline of trust in institutions, and the development of ethical frameworks for corporate use of behavioural science. Annabel is a member of several task forces, including the City of London Corporation’s Women Pivoting to Digital task force and the IEEE Neuroethics and Marketing committee.
