Juliette Powell is an author, media expert, technologist, sociologist, and founder of Turing AI, a company developing commercial applications in the data economy. She is the co-author of The AI Dilemma: 7 Principles for Responsible Technology (2023), a work integrating perspectives from engineering, business, government, and social justice on the deployment and governance of artificial intelligence.
 

She holds a faculty position at New York University, where she teaches courses on media, technology, and ethics. Her academic research is conducted at Columbia University, focusing on responsible AI and ethical data exploration.
 

Juliette founded Kleiner Powell International (KPI), a consultancy based in New York City. She is also the founder, researcher, and curator at WeTheData.org, a project mapping the data economy in collaboration with Intel Labs.
 

She worked as a show creator, interviewer, and producer across networks such as Biography, E!, MuchMusic, CP24 news, and CBC Television. She developed and hosted programming that integrated digital, mobile, and social media formats.
 

Juliette's consultancy services have been engaged by organisations including the United Nations, Microsoft, and Warner Brothers. She regularly contributes as a keynote speaker, panel moderator, and live commentator on networks such as Bloomberg, NBC, CNN, ABC, CBC, and BBC. Her speaking engagements include conferences organised by The Economist, Harvard, MIT, and the International Finance Corporation.
 

Her published works include 33 Million People in the Room: How to Create, Influence, and Run a Successful Business with Social Networking (2009) and The AI Dilemma (2023).
 

Juliette Powell holds degrees in Economics from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and Finance and International Business from McGill University.
 

She founded Powell International Entertainment Inc. (PIE Inc.) in 1999, producing media content and advising international organisations such as the United Nations, World Economic Forum, and World Bank.
 

She has been a mentor at Techstars since 2011 and a volunteer with ONE DROP since 2009. She also won the Miss Canada title, the first Black Canadian winner of the contest.
