Jewel Okwechime is the Non-Executive Director & Chairman of the Remuneration Committee at VFD Group Plc, and as an Oil and Energy Consultant, Business Development Manager at Deltic Energy Limited. Jewel is also a member of the advisory board of Billion Strong alongside global thought leader Debra Ruh.

She is a global environmental leader with over 20 years of experience in change management strategies for the oil and gas sector. She has worked with major companies such as Schlumberger, Woodside Energy, BP, Shell, and ExxonMobil.

She founded J&R Environmental Services in 2001, an environmental services consultancy that provides practical solutions for environmental and safety compliance. Jewel is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers, the highest level of professionalism in chemical engineering. She also supports engineers in becoming chartered professionals.

Jewel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology from Halton College, Cheshire, England and a Master of Engineering in Chemical and Bio-process Engineering from the University of Surrey, Guildford, Surrey, England.

Jewel has worked on numerous projects focused on improving environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with environmental laws, and achieving ISO 14001 EMS certification. She is particularly skilled in managing environmental control systems, monitoring pollution, and reviewing the best available technologies for on-site use, all while driving cost savings for her clients.

Jewel is working with wellness and health tech companies to optimise performance and lifestyle, aligning her career with a broader focus on sustainable and efficient business practices.
